2.The rules we follow

Kurz gesagt: necessary cookies are allowed without consent; for everything else we ask first.

This policy is based on the EU cookie rules (the ePrivacy Directive as implemented locally) and the GDPR. The core: cookies strictly necessary to make the site work are allowed without consent. For all other cookies — such as privacy-impacting statistics or marketing — we ask your consent first, and that choice is genuinely free: rejecting is as easy as accepting.

3.Cookies on chatbuild.com

Kurz gesagt: only necessary cookies — for statistics we store nothing on your device.

We measure how chatbuild.com and the dashboard are used with Mixpanel — without cookies and without storing anything else on your device. Every visit therefore stands alone; we do not recognise you on a later visit. The data is processed on European servers, no advertising network is attached to it, and the legal basis is our legitimate interest (see the privacy policy). If we use no marketing tool (yet), that row lapses. Any non-necessary cookie that gets added is listed here beforehand with its name, purpose and retention — and we ask your consent first.

4.Why you see no cookie banner

Kurz gesagt: we only set necessary cookies, so there is nothing to consent to.

• Necessary cookies are allowed without consent, and we set no others — that is why we ask nothing and you see no cookie banner.
• The map on our contact page and on the AI Innovation Center page comes from Google Maps. It loads when you scroll to it, so your browser fetches it from Google and Google receives your IP address — but the map stores nothing on your device, no cookies either. If you are signed in to Google in the same browser, Google may recognise you while the map loads. That falls under Google's privacy policy.
• If we ever add a cookie that is not necessary, we ask your consent first, with a Reject button as prominent as Accept.
• You can always clear cookies via your browser settings.

5.Cookies on sites we build for you

Kurz gesagt: your site gets no tracking cookies by default. If you add tools yourself, you are responsible for the consent.

A strict default applies to websites ChatBuild builds for customers:

• By default we place no analytics or marketing cookies on your site. Only strictly necessary techniques for the operation and security of the site (for example from our hosting party Cloudflare) may occur.
• If you ask us to add a tool that does set cookies — such as statistics or a third-party booking widget — then you as the site owner are the controller. You then arrange a correct cookie banner and cookie policy on your own site; we set up the technical basis for it.
• Visitors of such a site can direct questions to the owner of that site (see also article 11 of our privacy policy).

6.Your rights

Kurz gesagt: for personal data from cookies, the usual GDPR rights apply.

Where cookies process personal data, you have the same rights as with any other processing: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. How to use them — and how to file a complaint with the supervisory authority — is in the privacy policy.

7.Changes

Kurz gesagt: new cookies mean a new version of this page — and, where needed, your consent again.

If we start using different cookies, we update this policy and, where needed, ask your consent again. The date of the latest version is always shown at the top.
